Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026 · Applies to Chute for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS

Short version

Chute doesn't collect, store, or have access to your files, links, or account information. Everything you configure — server addresses, headers, upload history — stays on your own device. When you upload a file, it goes directly from your device to the server address you specified; we never see it.

What Chute stores, and where

None of the above is transmitted to us. We don't operate any server that Chute talks to by default — every upload destination is one you explicitly add.

What we don't do

Purchase verification

Chute is a paid app distributed through the App Store. Apple's App Store handles and verifies your purchase directly; we never receive your payment details, and any purchase-verification check Chute performs is done through Apple's own on-device APIs, not a server we operate.

Third-party servers you configure

Any server you add under Servers is a destination you chose and are responsible for — whether that's your own self-hosted server or a third-party service. Files you upload are sent directly to that address from your device. That server's own privacy practices apply to whatever you send it; we'd encourage checking them if you're using a service you don't operate yourself.

Children's privacy

Chute is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, since we don't collect information from anyone at all.
